On Valentine’s Day, CommonWell wrapped our sixth HIMSS conference, celebrating six years since the Alliance was formally announced at HIMSS13. Better yet, we got to share it with more than 40 of the member companies who were onsite with us this year.
Each year, HIMSS is a powerful reminder of how much change the industry is capable of, how much of a positive impact our work can have, and how quickly that change and those positive impacts can be realized when we work together. To that end, we enjoyed participating once again in the Interoperability Showcase, where we demonstrated the Nationwide Coordinated Care use case with seven of our members, showing how we are innovating together with solutions and services to increase nationwide data exchange. Our shared goal is to help improve care coordination, the experience of both the patient and the care team and, ultimately, health outcomes. If you couldn’t make it this year, you can watch the full demonstration on the CommonWell YouTube channel.
We had the privilege of checking back in with executives and experts from more than 30 of our member companies to get their thoughts on key issues in interoperability for CommonWell TV. And for the first time in CommonWell TV history, we spoke with a practitioner who is live on CommonWell services, Dr. Arthur Lauretano from Circle Health. To hear their insights, you can find the videos of their interviews here.
Ahead of the show, we were also proud to welcome five new members to the Alliance and announce our new CommonWell Connector™ Program. We had the added excitement of demonstrating CommonWell-enabled Event Notifications for the first time onsite in the Interoperability Showcase, which we expect to go into production later this year. But probably our favorite part of the event is the opportunity to connect with our fellow CommonWell colleagues and friends, particularly at our annual Member Reception.
Just two months into 2019, it has already been a busy year for CommonWell and its members, and HIMSS19 was no exception. We are excited to build upon this great work in the months to come, and hope you will continue to follow along with us throughout the year here on our Blog and through our Twitter, LinkedIn and Facebook pages. We’ll see you back in Orlando next year for HIMSS20!
