Use Cases and Specifications

The CommonWell Health Alliance Specification is comprised of Services (Part 1 of 2) and Use Cases (Part 2 of 2). It provides detailed information on CommonWell services, including approved uses, workflows and requirements for a compliant implementation of the CommonWell core services.

Specifications (Part 1): Services

The Services portion of the specification provides a detailed technical description of CommonWell services, how they work within workflow and how they should be used. Information on the core services, specifically the patient identification and linking service, record locator service and data broker service, is included. This also outlines the technical standards used for providing reliable, scalable and secure services.
